A
Each game has 10 Frames consisting of 2 throws each, if you throw a strike you can only throw once. If you throw a row of strikes it will not give your score until you miss a strike. The most you can score from a single frame is 30, which would mean getting three consecutive strikes, this is also known as a ‘Turkey’.
B
If you throw a spare it will count as 10 plus what you threw on the first throw of the next frame.
For example, looking at frames 5 to 6. The score before the spare was thrown is 81, and on the first throw of the next frame, they scored 9.
Therefore, 10 + 9 = 19, which added to the scored of 81 equals 100.
So as a sum it would look like this 81 + (10 + 9) = 100
C
A strike after a spare or vise versa will give you a score of 20
D
A strike will not score until you’ve thrown both shots of the next frame.
For example frame 7 to 8.
120(score on frame 6) + 10(strike) + 5+2 (score on next frame) = 120 + 17 = 137
E
On the 10th frame if you throw a strike you are awarded 2 extra throws. If you throw a spare you only get one extra shot.
The maximum score you are able to throw is 300, twelve consecutive strikes.
If you step over the black line at the start of the lane the pins will reset and you will get a no score for that throw, this is called a ´foul`.
Remember! the lane is covered in a fine layer of oil and is very slipery and dangerous. Try to keep your distance from the foul line when you throw the ball (half a foot or 30 cm is enough).
The rest is easy, try to hit as many pins as you can and keep out of the gutters. Happy Bowling !!!
